Inspired by a Massive Bus Tour
The idea for this new project started during a major life event. After dropping his successful album Homeless in 2024, Llona went on a massive nationwide tour.
He traveled by bus to 25 different cities across Nigeria. He purposely visited places that many popular artists usually ignore. According to Llona, this new album serves as a personal diary of that amazing journey. It captures everything he learned and experienced since his last album.
Finding Beauty in Nigeria
Even though a music tour can be very stressful and loud, the On The Road album is actually very calm. It features a mellow and soothing sound that is perfect for private listening. The songs are highly honest and show a very vulnerable side of the singer.
During his travels, Llona saw the true beauty of Nigeria. He admired the landscapes, the mountains, and the welcoming people. Everywhere he went felt like a homecoming. However, the long trip also opened his eyes to how bad politics is heavily affecting the country and its citizens.
Giving Things Time to Grow
This is Llona’s first full-length project in two years. He strongly believes in giving things time. Being a spiritual person, he felt guided to wait until 2026 before dropping another major project.
The new album features top stars like Black Sherif, Morrelo, and Fridayy. These big collaborations prove just how much he has grown in the music industry.
A Journey from Kano to Lagos
Born Michael Ajuma Attah, Llona moved around a lot as a child. While moving was sometimes painful because he had to leave friends behind, it helped him learn how to adapt. He learned how to connect with different tribes and people from all backgrounds.
His music journey has also seen a lot of changes. He actually started as a rapper named Tooclassiq in Kano. Later, he moved to Lagos and transformed into Llona, the soulful singer who tells stories about everyday realities.
Real Stories and Pure Emotion
Llona does not write fake stories. Every lyric comes from things he has seen, felt, or experienced.
The album touches on very real events. He sings about the sad passing of a young girl in Maiduguri, as well as the dedication of fans who traveled for hours just to see him perform. He uses his lyrics to paint a clear picture so his listeners can truly feel his emotions.
In the song “Anger Management,” he sings openly about his struggles with his temper. In “What Do We Do?,” he talks about empty promises and the confusing realities of life.
